Abstract

Purpose: The objective of the paper is an attempt to integrate the basic principles of Vedic management and corporate social responsibility, to create new perspectives in Corporate Veda, with an insight into human nature through concept of gunas such as tamas, rajas and sattva, leading to a spiritual relationship management that inspires and makes the subordinates work with vision. 1 Vedic Wisdom to Corporate Excellence : A Paradigm Shift and Holistic Perspective (Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Sri Aurobindo College(E), University of Delhi ; email id : drakmishra@gmail.com ; Mobile : 9810828033)  Abstract : Purpose : The objective of the paper is an attempt to integrate the basic principles of Vedic management and corporate social responsibility, to create new perspectives in Corporate Veda, with an insight into human nature through concept of gunas such as tamas, rajas and sattva, leading to a spiritual relationship management that inspires and makes the subordinates work with a vision. ????यायतो ????वषया????पुंसः स????ग????ते षूपजायते। स????गात ् संजायत े कामः कामा????????ोधोऽ????भजायते।।2.62।। (1.BhagavadGita Chapter 2 Verse 62) When a manager is attached to the senses of materialistic gains and worldly desires, it may result in unethical practices, anger, psychological stress and loss of peace.

Approach : Secondary Research : Vedic Scriptures.

Findings : The ancient teachings and practice such as 'Aham Brahmasmi' i.e. 'I have immense potential' and 'Yoga Karmasu Kaushalam' i.e. working for an organization, without selfish interests and unethical practice are more significant and effective in modern management practices. The ethics in business are the guidelines and the principles of the value system in corporate governance for a responsible conduct in business practices and decisions, with an effective leader , who cultivates strong will power, commitment and dedication, that boosts his self confidence ,which is an outcome of the basic learning , over the years , since childhood, from the Indian history, epics, vedas, shastras, upanishads and BhagavadGita, inculcating the initial political learning, of what is positive or negative, dharm or adharam, good or evil and this basic ability helps an Indian leader to withstand global economic pressure of slowdown and meltdown through his deligent decisions and take an organisation to the new and safe heights.

Originality/Value : This paper is an attempt to relate leadership effectiveness and control, inherent in the mind of an Indian leader through the teachings of BhagavadGita and Upanishads, with the performance of duty without selfish interest, false ego and attachment to fruits, while imbibing the Satogun qualities.
