On mapping an Enterprises Class Model Directly into Third Normal Form (3NF) Integrated Database
Abstract
The relational database model used for developing an integrated database for an enterprise relies on developing relational schemas which can support efficient query processing and are free from various anomalies like insertion, deletion and update anomalies. Basically two approaches for database design have been proposed in the literature viz. bottom-up-methodology and decompositionmethodology. A bottom-up design methodology would consider the basic relationships among individual attributes as the starting point and it would use those to build up relations.
